Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi all,
I have posted in a couple I places already but have been told this is the place to start.
I am married with one little girl (3 in July), have always loved my job (joinery) and it's doubled up as a hobby.
I have been offered a job I. Bahrain and seriously considering moving my family there.
I look forward to posting, reading and one day replying (hopefully helping those considering a move to Bahrain)
Thanks

Hi all,
Have been following this forum for a little while - very entertaining and a great quality of posts!
I'm currently looking at an opportunity in KSA, hence my interest here. I'm Scottish, and just asked a question on the Independence thread, so thought I'd better drop in a hello post here too.
Seems like a great community here, that I look forward to becoming a part of.

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi All,
I have posted a topic but guess this is this place I may get response as I am a newbie.
I live NE UK, 2 girls aged 2 and 3 weeks. Married for 6 years.
My occupation is Material Control.
I have been offered a position out in the Basra region Majnoon for Shell and just wanted some info from someone with experience out there, the only info I can seem to see is people trying to get a job out there.
It's the security situation that I am most concerned about, as soon as you mention the Country Iraq at the moment to friends/family I get a look to say why are you even thinking about it. Even though I have been informed that full PSD convoy is available from the airport to camp and then on a secure armed camp.
Anyway that's an intro to me at the moment, any info/advice/experience appreciated.

Hi Folks, heading over in early Dec working as the in country rep for my company. Looking forward to getting into the social side as no intention of spending my weekends looking at a TV. Will be working in Riyadh and living in the Alreem compound, so if there are any stories or experience of this compound, please shout out.
Cheers all

Evening All
I'm from the UK and have been looking to want to work in the Middle East for a while now. Until now all offers that have come through haven't really made me think it's worth the move. I'm currently single and work in IT as a contractor.
Had an offer for a role in Qatar that seems reasonable compared to whats come through previously. Would like to consider it and need of help from those more experienced than me to weigh up whether I'm being made an offer that's worthwhile or whether I'm considering something that should really be paying more. I have no idea what the norm is in Qatar.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi Guys, been in Qatar for 3 months now, i have to say i'm enjoying it apart from the Admin which is not for my laid back kind of style, i saw somewhere on here a post about family visas and marriage certificates from St Lucia, don't know if ill have to create a thread, but basically i need to know what i need to do with my certificate to get the missus a working visa, at the moment we have the Brittish embassy in St Lucia signing it then the St Lucian Embassy in Britain signing it, if anyone else would like to sign it let me know, is there anything else we need to do for the Qataris to beleive we are married.
