My ex wife was fluent in Arabic and translated the friday prayer near our house one day...eye opening to say the least. And it was all elaborated Koran quotes as well.
Quite a bit different from the Vicar droning on about forgiveness and being a good Samaritan for sure!

Hmm, I have asked numerous Arabic speaking friends over the years I have spent in the ME to translate Friday prayer for me...they ALL refused...politely.
I really would like to know the content of some of those prayers.
All I can say is that some sound awfully angry!

Eygpt; angry protesters scaled US embassy walls, tore down the American flag and burned it. Apparently there is a movie being in the US that is insulting to Muhammed.

Here is the pathetic response from the US on Tuesday 11th.
The U.S. embassy had put out a statement earlier on Tuesday condemning "misguided individuals" who hurt the religious feelings of Muslims or followers of other religions.
"We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others," the U.S. embassy said in its statement

So let me get this straight; Islam can make derogatory statements of other peoples/cultures and preach it everyday and it is perfectly fine.
Some Americans make a movie that allegedly insults Muhammed or a Danish chap draws a cartoon and thousands of Muslims from around the world demand the curtailing of free speech of said Americans and Dane.
The nerve some 'people' have ......
Whats even worse is the pathetic response from the Americans, "Abusing free speech", which is pure opinion, because the guarantee of Free Speech was expressley designed to protect unpopular speech.
Just imagine what the world would be like if Muslims ever get into the catbird seat.

What the statement from the US should have said is:
While the United States understands behind the reason behind, and respects the protestors rights to argue against the creation of this film, it is being made in a jurisdiction that only values freedom of speech and religious freedom at the highest levels. Not only that, it is a jurisdiction that also encourages and approves of self questioning, whether it be in science, life, or religion, as we believe it leads to a stronger and more relevant outcome.

Islamists stormed the US embassy in Libya and killed an American.
Islamist way of saying thanks for helping them defeat Ghaddafi.
Ofcourse the same NeoConservatives who were pushing the US to get involved in Libya are also pushing for Western assistance for the anti Assad rebels, some of whom are Al Queda.
