I used to live in a flatshare in JBR that was ripe for this. You could have the landlord who has a girlfriend who doesn't officially live there, but never leaves. She's also incredibly loud while they're having sex.

Or there's the Russian who works for a major fashion chain in Dubai, and who may or may not moonlight as a lady of the night.

Or maybe there's the British raised Greek/Indian who thinks he's gods gift to women, and works for a less than reputable financial advice company.

All genuine former flatmates; oh the list could go on...

It would! I remember my first year in Dubai, I actually thought I was the unwitting victim of a reality tv show ala The Truman Show. I couldn't believe what I was experiencing was the real world (well the real world Dubai style).

Ethos83 is an unknown quantity at this point

If we're creating a reality show about Dubai flatmates they will have to be either Western or not. I don't think I ever knew of a flat or villa share that had a mix of Westerners and other nationalities. The Arabs, Indians and other nationalities will have to be secondary characters such as coworkers, secret lovers, maids and service people.

Both compounds we lived in in had Indian and Sri Lankan maintenance guys living on site and maids from all over the place, as well as expat and arab families. The second compound had maids rooms on the roof - it was such fun to lay in bed at night and watch the nightly activity of the girls going to each others rooms and the maintenance dude offering his services to all of them in the middle of the night - he certainly was a busy boy.
