One of my mates had the first F Type in Dubai. Had to do the whole photography thing with loads of folk clapping etc. He has no idea how he got into that situation and neither did the several locals behind him in the queue either. The car was beautiful to look at but he had so many quality issues with it. I think it spent more time back at Jag than with him for the first few months. Nothing big just rattles and poor finishes. He end up selling it after a year.

Which will cover most things.

Jaguar quality? It used to be crap, but my 9 yr 7 mth old XKR is still as tight and rattle free as the day I bought it.

There is literally nothing wrong with it at all today but its only done 100k KMS which is nothing for a modern car. I had some small issues during the first 18 months, but Al Tayer Dubai were actually very good on the warranty, even robbing a part from a stock car to keep me on the road. If Jaguar had a car that was better than my XKR (the F type is a sports car and not a GT) I would buy it tomorrow.

I have honestly looked at everything in the market and to dramatically improve on what I have would set me back in excess of aed500k.

I have looked at the F-Pace a couple of times and it is truly an awesome car, but with my car and the Land Cruiser in another parking bay it doesn’t make sense for me.

Buy it, you’ll love it. Don’t take colors/options into account on the resale value as neither of those really make a difference in ME after 3 years unless its totally basic spec.

The other options I was looking at were the Range Rover Vogue and the Audi Q7, but the Jag was so much more fun on a test drive, with the Range Rover Vogue coming in second!

I do not normally go for such luxury, having had a succession of second hand SUV`s but this time I am going to treat myself!!
For that money why don't you get a Ford Raptor?
2017 Raptors start at around $50grand here in the US.

Going off on a tangent: Does the UAE impose customs duties on vehicles brought in by expats who intend to take the vehicle with them when they leave?

Ford Raptor v Jaguar F Pace R-Sport....there is no comparison at all, one is a heap of shite driven by overweight, racist, tattooed red necks, with a fascination for old glory and Nazism...whilst the other just oozes class and sophistication with an untamed beast under the bonnet!

Anyway negotiations finished, agreed final price AED299, 000.00 plus they threw a couple of extra little items in...I feel like a dog with 2 dicks now!!! Downside delivery time 6 weeks ish!!

I would think describing the Raptor as exuding class and sophistication is pretentious and the wrong kind of PR for it.

Only on Ford Raptors, and consists of the following;

1. Obesity Tax at 1000 AED/kg

2. Tattoo Tax at 100 AED/Tat, if mis-spelt 200 AED, Badly covered up ex girlfriend/boyfriends names 500 AED, hidden heart shapes or my little pony Tats will result in deportation!

3. Racism Tax one off at 1000 AED plus Aryan Nation on off at 5000 AED

4. Third Reich Tax one off at 1000 AED

Seriously you can import a car into Dubai and you will pay a fee of 5% of the value as shown on the Commercial Invoice! You will not be able to claim this back as in effect you will have to register the vehicle with the RTA and this negates the re-export clause under which you could have used to reclaim! Also you will have to get a conformity letter from ESMA (see article).

UAE issues new rule on registering imported used vehicles - Khaleej Times

5. Old Glory Flag Tax one of at 5000 AED
