National Bonds - Some problems?

Each year they announce the yearly profits in December and promptly pay out in Jan.

It's now mid Feb and still no announcement. Also in year 1 I received several prizes, year 2 maybe 1 at best, year 3 nothing... hmmm....

As soon as they pay out for 2009 I'm cashing them in...

Blue Cat swears by them, if my memory serves me right, so hopefully she will have something to say on the matter.

They have been saying that for over 6 weeks now... just for once I'd like to see some transparency.... rather than a vague "coming soon, honest" maybe just once they'd say "we made no money last year so you're getting nothing" or "Ahmed's calculator's battery ran out, we've ordered a new one and as soon as we get it he'll work out your profit"...

In 2009 the bonus was not announced or paid out until February, so it's only a week later than last year.

national bond. the clue is in the name i'm afraid and since the govt is broke i wouldnt hold your breath.

i know that they arent "proper" national bonds but it is still a semi govt entity

why?

i actually dont think people will, especially after they generously loaned the govt cash on an interest free basis

A man keeps calling me and asking when I am going to invest more capital! I have told him a number of times that I will if they change the rules and go back to the former format. Both my wife and I won a number of small prizes over the past couple of years. But now we have a million a week and little else, we have not won a thing. It was quite fun winning a few hundred dirhams most weeks. But whether its the old format or the present one the chances of winning the million is nil, and not worth worrying about.

To be fair you don't actually know that for a fact. They might.

Although, I agree the risk is very very slim.

Remember as a bond holder you are just another creditor to them - it's not like they have been that honest with all the other creditors.

It's just a way to get money on the cheap...Instead of only having one source of funding (banks), they also have this variable alternative...It's a rolling credit scenario, plain and simple...
