Nakheel anounces location of world's highest tower
In today's Al Bayan, Nakheel anounced the location of the proposed highest tower in dubai and the world. The attached article from al bayan does not show it clearly but it is going to be between Jumeirah lake Towers and Ibn Batuta Mall. The article also says that Nakheel decided to move the 1.4km tower from the waterfront to Sheikh Zayed Road and to change its name from the "Burj" to the "High Burj". They have also investigated the strength of the soil and determined that its ok it build the highest tower in the world at that location...

But they havent finished the last tallest building in the world yet....
what was the point of that then? Is it going to be know as the old tallest building in the world now even tho its new?
Are we having Burj twin towers or something.....
Why dont they just knock down Dubai and use the whole of the area to build the biggest ever tallest building in the world..ever and everyone in Dubai can all live in it for ever!.....

Even if they build the 1.4km one, it will be dwarfed by the one they're building in Saudi, which is going to be a mile high.

When your oil revenue (which is most of your revenue) more than doubles in price in a year it's easy to build Burj this and Burj that....
