Nobody gets tricked unless they let it happen. Nobody believes all that crap unless they want to.

How do we get rid of them? We probably can't. There will always be a core of ignorant people, numbers depending on factors such as employment figures, regional and international news, and crime stats.

Or we could ban sex offenders frpom running for public office. That would do it.

at least that would keep the clergy out of public office

There are plenty of idiots who vote for Labour and the Tories and there are some who simply vote in protest because in all fairness the average British "subject" doesn't really have much in terms of democracy regardless of who they vote for...they cannot vote for a head of state nor can they vote for those who sit in the House of Lords...we're on half democratic in reality.
