10,511 items in inbox. 7357 unread.
Earliest email in there is from Feb last year. Time to go on a mass delete. |

I ****ing hate email
the global stat is something like 1.2 emails back for every one you send. my inbox is at 7,000 odd with 15 unread. everytime it hits 10,000 i delete all regardless of content. there is nothing in there that my life depends on and i view it very much as a barely tolerable necessity. more and more productivity studies are showing that abandoning emails especially intra office email leads to an increase in productivity and a decrease in stress. Its a hateful medium and anyone who uses reply all should be summarily executed in public. same goes for anyone unable to distinguish between CC and BCC. |

That's mad, how come they are unread? Do you not even open them for a second to see what the email is about?
My email OCD would refuse to allow me to have unread highlighted in outlook. I change the settings from auto-un-read the email when it's been clicked on because it annoys me. I've got barrel loads of folders too, but it's just a hassle. The greatest thing in Outlook is the search function.

I get really annoyed when guys in my team will email someone to ask a question rather than pick up the ****ing phone. My old director was a complete ****, make no mistake, the bloke was/is a ****ing chopper of the highest order. BUT, the only redeeming feature is that he cannot use a computer, his PA does everything on it for him but it means he is never off the phone. I employ bans on email for periods of hours when we need to get shit done and get on the phone. Anyone caught out has to buy me lunch  |

the reason for 90% of all inter-office emails
Important shit gets emailed. If I'm feeling particularly combative I'll write minutes and use them at the follow up. |
