It's one thing to be 20 but otherwise how do you look at your children in the face afterwards?

I know you smoke so do your folks know and you do it in front of them?

I used to smoke for years but I never did in front of them. Too embarrassed. I know they knew I did for a while but I'm confident they didn't know I smoked as long as I did.

They both know. My Mum's partner smokes cigars. I smoke less in front of her but will do it. She just moans about it at me and then has a serious one to one about how much I smoke. I lie, she's happier. She probably knows I'm lying but she know's i'm honest when I say I will quit one day in the near future.

Dad knows. He hates it. Never smoked in his life, not even one to try. Despises smoking. Smoked in front of him once (when I told him) and a couple of times when he visited me in Dubai. I was at his house in Greece a couple of weeks ago, didn't smoke for a few days, had a few on the days we went out, otherwise just didn't smoke near him or where he could smell it on me. The thought of my Dad being disappointed in me is worse than any feeling words can describe.

BTW - My comment was only mucking about. Drugs are for people to have fun with in their early-ish 20's before they have to care about too much.

Illegal is a designation which doesn't either make the drug or substance either bad or good for you. I expect as adults people should make their own informed choices.
Looking your children in the face is some kind of semi emotive tabloid attempt at assigning guilt to choices.
