Default Modifications included a jet fuel tank

Crazy place...

Upon inspection, police found that the car was completely modified.
Some of the modifications included a jet fuel tank, a speed enhancer, a computer used to switch the speed enhancer on and off, in addition to massive changes to the vehicle’s body and engine, all intended to enhance the four-wheel drive’s speed up to 350km/h.

Says the car had another engine but maybee the writer of the article just got carried away ...

Jet Fuel is just Kerosene, is it not?
You would have to do some serious modifications to a gas engine to run it?? ; can run it straight in a diesel engine but I doubt many Emiratis are running diesel engines.

350km/h my arse, that's 220mph.

To get a car over 170mph takes a lot, to get one over 200mph is crazy, to get a box the shape of a 4x4 over 220mph....... not a hope!

Indeed. I seem to remember reading somewhere that after 150mph power required to keep on increases exponentially.

Also, at those speeds aerodynamics and wind resistance are a big factor.

ROFL. I used to know a lad who used to put a dash of air fuel in his motorbike to give it some extra 'oomph'. That Honda Cub 50 would fly! (well, an extra 5mph)

I'd say its possible but he is going to need serious horsepower, something over 5-600bhp to do it.
The fuel tank was probably avgas not kerosene. Not jet fuel but the high octane petrol used in smaller airplanes. Used to use it myself for racing, you get more power out of it but also the engine runs cooler.

The Jeep SRT8 can hit 175mph on 450BHP.

Personally, I think it'll be a push to get them to 220mph - that is cutting a lot of air and drag (thus power) is a squared relationship to speed. So 25% more speed needs 55% more power. I think you'd need well over 800BHP to get the SRT8 to that speed... then there would be the challenge of making it stick to the road, by the time the extra downforce and suspension is added you'd need even more.

Yeah maybe but it's probably within the bounds of being possible. Once you throw large wedges of cash at a mechanic and car modification shop.
Having watched the fast and the furious recently, I know you also need to add some tasteful neon underbody lighting and a warp drive button on the steering wheel.

plenty of 1000 and 1,500 hp patrols in the UAE.
They are considered specialists within the region at building ridiculous patrols.

There is a garage here that Mercedes sent technicians out to to learn how they did some modifications to suspension and I believe that these were then adapted to be used in a few of mercs own designs.

I know a guy here who has a 1000hp pajero, if you've got the money and the wasta there are garages here that can do insane things to cars.

couple of vids to demonstrate

I don't disagree that it could be done in the US or just outside of Woking, UK, but in Al Ain?

The lights would be essential, as would a subwoofer.

Good point - 1000bph from the 4.8 vtec isn't actually that difficult.

Out of interest - do you know any of these garages? I'd like a supercharger fitted to the FJ.

pretty sure they'd laugh if you turned up with an FJ. But from the top of my head most places could fit a TRD one with no issues.
