Correct and also a man that came with a few decent morals and stuck to them through thick and thin.

The best thing about him was his penchant for wearing National Coal Board DONKEY JACKETS...!

....A proper bloke.....!

I miss the old style politicians who actually believed in something and could speak in something other than central office sound bites.

A useless leader who took labour to the worst defeat since 1918 and all the time in the pay of Moscow - apart from that, yeah great:rofl:

In the pay of Moscow? Now that is a daft thing to say. The Sunday Times ran a story suggesting that which he denied, then sued them and won.

He was a passionate supporter of CND & a socialist in the true sense. Neither of these are linked to the Soviet Union. Anyone who suggests that the USSR was communist in the real sense clearly has no idea about what these terms mean. He should never have stood for leader of the Labour Party, but to judge his whole political life on that, shows no knowledge of anything else he did. I was never a big supporter, and indeed am too young to have been when he was active, but the man made an impact and stood by what he believed in.

It was Michael Foot who first called Norman Tebbit a 'semi-trained polecat' so for that alone should be applauded.
