My opinion
The only one? Aside from Megadeth, Anthrax, Kreator, Annihilator, Sepultura, etc etc....

I said "true", old bean.

I'd have Megadeth and Anthrax down under the "Speed" genre, Sepultura under "Nu-metal" and Kreator and Annihilator under "Death Metal" due to their obvious influences from Venom.

Ok, so Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer all got lumped together as the "Big Four of Thrash", but each have (or had) their own distinct style and only Slayer tick all of the Trash boxes for me.

But there was no such thing as 'Nu Metal' back then was there?

I recently downloaded the whole Anthrax and Metallica back catalogues as I loved them as a kid, the Metallica one still stands up as pure quality but the Anthrax one, who I loved the most, is pretty shit.

Oh, and check this out - it's amazing

No, there wasn't, but Max Cavallera (formerly of Sepultura) was one of the pioneers of Nu Metal and you can hear a Nu edge in some of their stuff.

Good link btw

Wow. Reminds me of the "best steakhouse" or "best wine" threads on here. Everyone thinks their opinion is the only one that matters. Isn't the internet great?

It's all about opinions isn't it? That's what makes this place tick.
