a. Marine bar has a great band and I still find the bass guitarist hot....and YES I know she bats for the other side (or should I say she bats for our side?) but thats part of the whole allure if you ask me
b. Marine bar, like MOST of the bars here in my neck of the woods are chock full of ladies of the night and the kind of clientèle that comes along with them, which is fine I guess but these days I would rather sit by the sea, a cold one, low music and just not talk. Silence...is a powerful drug if taken at regular intervals. I am sure there MUST be a place like that without the plastics?
c. Rock bottom, I think ive been to 4-5 times and has no ladies of the night and relatively less loud music, which is a good thing...yes I might be getting old....er!

I'm still surprised at the amount of ladies of the night in Dubai, all things considering. I remember visiting the Embassy club during my last visit and it looked like a porn shoot

i live in the movenpick in JLT and the bar downstairs (UBK) on a thursday night is literally caked with the ladies of the night....most of them are from north africa, which is a shame coz the food & music in there is pretty good

We lived in the JLT Movenpick when UBK first opened. It had a really nice chilled atmosphere and no "ladies".

Been in since and it's now like Girders (which, incidentally, also used to be ok in its early days).

so based on the 2 summations above, and some brilliant calculations of my own genius-ness (am not going to bother you with the details of the boring calculations ofcourse) we can safely deduce that:
T ∝ LOT
where
T = time spent in dubai
LOT = chances of 'one' turning into a lady of the night
Please note that the 'one' here could be male as well as female since after having lived a certain amount of time in this crazy place, even a sane man would gladly don some high heels and silk leggings just to do something, anything to liven up the monotony!!

I was in The George and Dragon yesterday afternoon, home to the smallest bouncer in the world. 25 a pint during happy hour (12-7) then 31 and the tikka chicken is lush (27).

Then we went to TGITs and it went downhill from there.

I know, but I'm actually considering living in the office now. Work in Australia, Vietnam, here and North America means I'm in almost every time zone when you consider working days.
