Default Meal Plans

Afternoon,

Have put on a bit of tub recently and want to correct that trend.
Have thought about meal plan things for a while as friends and colleagues have enjoyed success with them.

Anyone else used them? KCal / Pura / Athleat etc etc. There seems to be loads and recommendations are always best

Thanks in advance

From what I have seen the portions are minuscule and the prices mahooosive!

You'd be better off batch cooking yourself.

More than likely, but I'm not going to control my portions as well I doubt.
Kind of tempted to do it for a month, see how it goes and then replicate at home myself thereafter.

The price has always put me off.

Me and Mrs Shed had the same conundrum (weight gain) but we didn’t want to do meal plans as we like to cook our own stuff.

We did did a simple thing that has worked well in terms of portioning and its showing some results already.

We bought smaller plates. Honestly, it worked.

Get smaller cutlery (children’s size), too. It really does work.

Good suggestions.

I would sort of miss the cooking too actually, but finding as I'm busier and travelling more the inconsistent schedule makes me lazier.

I've emailed a few firms and will see who comes back with a sensible price etc.

They're pretty expensive mate but they do work . If you're stuck for time it can be a decent shout but it's a hefty cost .

Exactly!
For lunch at work, prepared at home, it has to fit inside a small IKEA plastic container.

It will work for the month without a doubt , you can do it easily with prep but it's a good kickstarter . Id go for a 6 day week , if you go for five then you'll just lose all the decent work over the weekend .

It's a classic fail

Good point.
Unfortunately the cost is a bastard but if it gets me into it then I'll be more inclined to get on with it myself after I think.
Will track it and see how we go.

How much weight are you trying to lose? While the idea seems good surely it can only be a short term thing, or do they provide the exact size meals to achieve your weight loss target and then you are finished?

What's the price? Does it include all three main meals plus snacks?

Probably 10kgs initially. I've put on 4-5 recently and the other 5-6 have been chilling for a while anyway.
They seem to base it on your weight, target weight etc etc to give you the macros needed. We'll see.

I think it has to be short term but if it can make the difference, make you get started and lead into a bit of a shift of lifestyle to being different then it'll definitely help.
One of these shifts, for example, is that I never eat breakfast so if a month of delivered food makes me want breakfast and I can make that a new habit and be making my own then that's a tick.
Might work, might not.

They range based on how much food you need and how many meals and snacks from what I can work out.
Most seem about 2-3,000 a month.

If you’re travelling etc then you may find that it won’t be that useful. as you will be away.

A decent calorie tracker is a good idea. MyFitnessPal is good.

I see people have them in the office everyday. Doesn’t seem to stop people snacking in between meals which is really the killer. And the quality of the salads and chicken looks miserable.
