Re: Mass graves to shed light on Britain's bloodiest battle
I don't find anything expensive, the hotels obviously are a pricey and can be really over the top. Everything else is cheap. I avoid imported foods, most people do there is always an alternative. Take aways I find cheap compared to the UK. It is rent and school fees that are the big chunk out of most people's salaries. Where you planning on living?
Then I'm planning to find a room to rent somewhere, depending on the general consensus around the legality and reality of getting caught etc.
Seems to be a cheap way of living in a nice place.
Going to push myself to join a rugby club as soon as I'm out there which will hopefully open the possibilities beyond dubizzle to find somewhere...

I'm put up for 2-3 months, (hoping for 3) in the Marina.

Clothes are generally more expensive than in the UK, as are many UK foodstuffs. Tickets for gigs are pricey too.

Re: Mass graves to shed light on Britain's bloodiest battle
We bought a brand new DSLR camera and in less than a week the lens had developed a fault. At first, they tried telling us that it should make a clunk sound, then they poked the mirror a bit and sent the actual camera off for repair - 4 visits, 2 calls and 10 days later, the camera came back with the verdict "no fault". I threw a wobbly and refused to physically hold the camera, let alone take it home, so they gave me a new one, we stuck the lens on and lo! Same fault. They wanted to send it away again, so I took out the print of the law and pointed out a few apt articles with a view to not leaving until I got what I wanted. After another 30 minutes of wrangling, they handed me a replacement. What a waste of my life!

that's usual. Tbh, avoid buying anything here - it's far more expensive, consumer rights are in their infancy (and often shops with have their own interpretation of the law). You will hardly ever be offered a cash refund on an unwanted item, and rather than replace a faulty item, they will try to repair it.

Ah well...
What about electronics, I fancy an iPad, worth getting over there or here would you suggest?
