So do I. There is a great book out there, think like a man act like a lady, written by a guy, very funny read and language. It does speak about time frames on relationships etc

Indeed...marriage is going out of fashion. Unless you're an expat worried about being flogged and deported from the middle east for living with someone you love or you live in a country that gives tax breaks most freethinking people are just not bothering to get married anymore.

I disagree Norm, I still believe in getting married- I wouldn't rush into it mind and I'd opt for a small low key thing rather than burning money. My last single friend gets married in Sept, all of them are married.

I actually thought that to be true and that the average age at the time of marriage had increased to 32 as compared to 20-23 in 2000

I have two step-brothers back in blighty from my Dad's last marriage

Step-brother one is married to a lovely girl and they have five wonderfull children (this is the Irish side of the family so breeding is a popular passtime ;)) They live in a reasonably decent house and none of the kids get into any serious trouble. They seem to have a very good relationship and have been together for over 18 years.

Step-brother two has been with the same girl (also quite lovely) since they were in their mid teens. They have five lovely children (told you we like to breed) and live in a decent house - none of the kids get into any serious trouble. They seem to have a very good relationship which has lasted more than two decades.

So can anyone tell me how would it improve my second step-brother's life if him and his missus get married?

I believe in romance, I beleive in ceremony....that's all. Don't see the need for keeping divorce lawyers in business anymore or giving religions power over their followers love-lives.
