Mandela - What next for South Africa

It would appear he's in a bad way, hope he pulls through with a quality of life.

Anyways,

Will South Africa will go to pieces when he pops his clogs?

Reason I ask is that I was talking to a couple of SA mates on Saturday, he said the whites want to annex the Cape and basically go back to an apartheid state (and create a new country), he reckons there are over 250,000 Western troops - mainly german he said - on standby in either Botswana or Namibia I can't recall which, that will fight for a fully white homeland based around the Western Cape.

The only reason they've not tried it is because Mandela is the link between the blacks and the whites, when he's gone he insists it will be carnage and a civil war.

I'm not planning on going to SA anytime soon...

But he doesn't actually do anything nowadays so why would his death affect South African government other than to produce initial pain and suffering?

That all sounds a bit dramatic and OTT, no?

Sounds like something you'd read in a Chris Ryan book.

It already has. Look at the numbers of whites fleeing the country to go to 'safe' places where intruders won't murder you. Look at the reverse apartheid where whites don't get jobs.

Re: Mandela - What next for South Africa

In a nutshell sa is ****ed

His death many worry will lead to a massive power struggle within the ANC and among the various tribal forces. They are probably right and given how mental zuma is I'd be surprised if there isn't total chaos.

As for an army, boer fantasy, white mercenary armies haven't done too well in Africa for a few decades and even if they do have an army I'm pretty sure that not many non whites would want to live in their new state anyway. It's a bit like the youthful emarati fantasy of all foreigners out. Sounds like a great plan until you realise there is no body left to do any actual work

Why doesn't Europe bring these whites back home to replace immigrants from outside Europe where possible?

Why wouldn't we want them back? OK they have annoying accents and a strangely macho culture but they do good barbecues and would be fully integrated within a generation quite easily.

I do not believe that it will make the slightest difference to the Political situation in SA when Mandela dies.

This looks like a spoof, but it's true.

Mandela has been given the freedom of the London Borough of Brent.

Sometimes I feel as though I've wandered into the 19th century. Or possibly the time of the dinosaurs.

You just try telling my white South African friends, born and bred in South Africa for generations, that they are not African.

The witokes can shout all they want in SA but it belongs to the Blackman if you listen to the Blackman and he's steering the ship. However much it may grieve the average witoke he would be wise to try and claim ancestry to his 17th century ancestors

Nice program on al jazeera with English academic and Babwean bob supporters all claiming baas Roberts land reforms have been an unequivocal success. The writing is on the wall hey
