Compulsory for between nine months and two years for the boys, but optional for girls.
I wonder if they'll be made to turn up more often than the regular forces who trainers tell me often take time off whenever they feel like it, usually because " my uncle asked me to visit' and other such ridiculous reasons.

For defence of the borders, WTF? Apart from the 'troubles' in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait etc. when has anyone threatened the UAE?

According to reports on Arabian business website ....Iran have recently said that they will give the UAE 2 of the 3 islands back as long as they retain sea bed rights.they are still talking about third island
