That's actually really cool. Like that a lot.

I tried finding it on the Manchester Evening News website (as I don't trust our daily rags) but found nothing. If true, it suggests that Mancini may want to stay in the UK, which seems unlikely given his frequent travels home to visit his sick father in Italy. There has to be some motive behind this.

A gent even after being sacked. As a city fan I will miss him.

Rather then there being a motive, could it not just be that he wants to say thank you to the fans for supporting him the last 3 and a half years and singing his name home and away at every game?

You may be right. As a City fan too I was always a Mancini supporter. His only fault was his public criticism of certain players and his favouritism towards Balotelli, which must have drove other players mad. I would have given him another 12 months personally, especially given the recent changes in Salford.

Newspaper websites don't show full page print ads.... perhaps his motive is simply to say thanks.

Would it not have been easier to just spend a few hours and go and visit them all in person.... ;)

Personally I never had any strong thoughts either way on the Guy. He did seem to have some 'issues' with his management style that seemed to alienate players and coaching staff, but hey it seemed to have done him OK in the past with other clubs.

I do think he used his poor grasp of the English language to get away with quite a lot tho. Some of the comments he made in post match interviews should have got him in more trouble than they did. If other managers had said what he did on occasions it would be fines a plenty.

Good luck to him tho. He certainly brightened up the EPL for a few seasons.

Next!

Would that be the same Guardian which had Jurgen Klopp becoming the next Man Utd manager?:)http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...chester-united

City fans have taken out an ad in a Italian newspaper to say thanks to Mancini. Things like this make me really happy and proud to be a blue!

A suprising, but pleasing gesture, clearly showing that he was both aware and appreciative of the supporters.

I am still trying to find the advert posted by Manure supporters thanking Whiskeynose for his umpteen years of loyal service. Their fans are so fickle.

**** off! Tens of thousands of them turned up in public to see Sir Alex off.

It's no wonder folk call your supporters bitter! It must hurt knowing the team you consider your biggest rivals don't see you as anything even close to that.
