And obviously it is nothing to do with the timewasting tactics that the visiting teams employ when they are winning or drawing at Old Trafford. That's the problem with statistics, they don't tell the whole story.

In mitigation, the study revealed that the average stoppage time added at Old Trafford is below that at the home grounds of top four rivals Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

United's is 205 seconds, compared to Liverpool's 210 seconds, 224 seconds for Arsenal and Chelsea's 229 seconds.

Thank you and good night.................

But time is added for a specified list of stoppages, such as between a penalty kick being awarded and being taken.........

..... and since Utd are awarded three times as many as anyone else....... er.....

I didnt know there was a rule that only the home team was allowed to score during injury time!

True, but statistically the home team are more likely to......

In the 2007/08 Premier League (haven't seen last season's numbers), of all the goals scored after 85 minutes, 78% were by the home team.

must be reassuring for ManUtd fans to keep reading this shite, it'll keep coming as long as they're still the best team.. when it stops it's time to worry

true.
it should also be noted that if the away team is leading then they will often be hanging on to that lead and wasting a lot of time. hence more time added

Let's face it - looking at the raw numbers alone, they are getting c.10-15s more than the other teams. If they haven't been able to score in the prior 90minutes does that 10s advantage really offer much?

mind I was a bit pissed off when you scored in the 128th minute v Sunderland last season :frown:

but if Bellendamy hadn't done a lap of honour after his goal Man Utd wouldn't have had time to score

now you're being too red, the ref played the right amount of time, bellamy had a fantastic game but shouldn't have slapped that lad, it was however, nothing and no need for action.

When did all football supporters become fannies ? Those Arsenal fans dished out dogs abuse to Adebayor then cried like babies because he slid on his knees on some grass where they could see him.
