Maids ?
Is it very common to have a maid ???? If so do you suggest a live in or somebody to come round 3 or 4 times a week ???? Im not sure if i would feel comfortable with someone living in, does anybody know a good agency & would you say certain maids from certain countries are better than others ????

We have just changed maid agency (again).
The new one uses men, and they work their nads off.
Do more in four hours that the old agency would have done in a week.
I suppose I would have a live in maid, but the wife insists if we did that it would have to be a hideously ugly one..

i haven't heard great things about any particular agency, they are a much of a muchness as far as i can tell...depends on the person they send you, as always. Sure some people on here can recommend one though...
as for nationality, again, depends on the helper in question...i've heard bad things about both filipinas and sri lankans... mine is sri lankan, for example, and is completely fantastic...

personal thing about living in, guess most people who have live ins have children, but this is a bit of a generalisation of course...

I would just use an agency and get someone in three or four times a week, if you get a live in you have to sponsor them etc. As MH says if you have kids that can be a great help.
