This made me laugh . . .
I'm sure some of you will have seen it before, but was given today a letter 'alledgedly' from the police out here about keeping safe from robberies, muggings etc. The following paragraphs made me laugh out loud:
Never trust anyone who says he is a policeman, even if he shows you his ID card. And even if he is wearing police uniform (you can trust him only if he is driving a police car)
In the beginning try to avoid violence and do not obey orders for showing your iqama or wallet - if he becomes violent with you please either beat him or seek assistance from a passer-by to beat him for you and hand him over to the police.
Someone out here has a sense of humour!

An excuse to go around beating up coppers? On the pretense that they were a fake cop and were trying to arrest you?

Have vague recollections of this while I was in Dammam a few years ago...
I do remember a management type telling us that we shouldnt stop at the FAKE police checkpoints, only the REAL ones...
He never did give us an acceptable way of determining one from the other...

If they ask for their bribe before asking for your licence and ID, they're genuine.............
