Lucid Dreaming

this topic came up on another forum for the bored that i frequent and has questioned my belief structure somewhat.

i've only just realised that most people don't lucid dream.

This is weird for me as I have always dreamed lucidly.
by that i mean my dreams are in full colour, sound and smell, I always knows its a dream and can control where the dream goes at will. I always remember my dreams and dream probably 3-4 times a week.

now i understand lucid dreaming and what lucid dreamers experience but what the hell do those of you who don't lucid dream experience?

as i say I've only just realised that lucid dreams are a lot rarer than I'd thought so i'm genuinely interested in what others do or don't experience.

do you dream at all, do you remember them, can you not control them at all??

Re: Lucid Dreaming

I have very lucid dreams, I also occassionally have hysterical laughter during my sleep- that can freak a guy out I can tell you! On occassions I have had to ask friends if something happened or not as its so clear in my mind.

I don't remember my dreams very often, and generally I dream more when I am stressed or working flat out. The more chilled I am the less likely I am to remember them.

I don't even remember most of my dreams. Pfft.

But with my hypnotist's hat on, lucid dreaming is a really fascinating subject.

I did dream once that I was having a piss only to wake up and find the bed covered in piss. Does that count?

I have very lucid dreams - sometimes to such an extent that as I'm falling asleep, I can choose the start of a dream and stop and swap it if it's not heading a direction I want.

I also remember them, much to Mr Kitty's frustration, because I tell him about them (and they can be pretty warped). It doesn't help though, that the memory starts to fade the more I try to describe them...

hmmm that sounds bloody amazing, I had dreams but can hardly remember them, never midn remember smells - that sounds incredible.

I sometimes have a snooze in the afternoon after the beach or whatever and am sort of half asleep and half awake and can usually control those dreams.

Also if I've been drinking heavily I can have a dream, wake up and not know where I am, as in I once woke up and was in my bedroom but was CERTAIN that I was in another persons house, I got up and was looking at my room, then the hosue and was totally freaked.

aye you're not the first to say that.

I read all this last night about Lucid Dreams on wiki and then had loads of mad dreams and the cat was telling me not to use the tea towel to clean some food I'd spilt (in mrs spugsys voice) and I've been up since 6am.

Weird.

I have vivid, technicolour, surround sound dreams but I can't control myself or the other people in them.
I wish I could and then I wouldn't wake up in a mad panic after 'watching' one of my kids get into mortal danger. Not nice.
