He'd better watch out then or by morning he may have also thrown himself down two flights of stairs, leaned against a window (which was open) and then hung himself (whilst still handcuffed).

Most Police are decent lads. Once one of them gave me a free ticket to watch Wimbledon beat Man u 1 nil but unfortunately there are some of them that like a bit of action. I wonder where the Cocaine from all the drugs busts go.

I have been on a few protests and this is what happens. It starts off all friendly and there is a carnival atmosphere. I went to the last one in the city and as soon as we got there some lad jumped on top of a police van and started dancing on the roof. Even the lice were laughing but then some of the special brew crew jumped on it and started smashing it up. The coppers that were outside jumped in but in their panic drove straight into a lampost. All the protesters were banging on the van as he was stuck, anyway he reversed it out and he ran over a woman. I thought she was dead ( later i found out she had just broken her leg) she was motionless on the ground so everyone ran after this van trying to smash it up.
In the end the police strap on their riot gear and atack anything they can and after watching the protest on tv this was what seemed to happen. On a few occasions the police took a beating or had to retreat now i guess some of them were so angry that when they had a chance they tried to get revenge. it is a shame that it has had to take a death of an innocent man for people to look closely at how the police, police protests but believe me this kind of incident is not a rarity. What pisses me off is the fact that even after causing the death of someone they still take the opportunity to try to regain the moral high ground. " we tried to save him but the protesters us threw bottles at us ". How pathetic that some people on here prefer to believe the lies of the police.
Is Tony Blair the met polices spin doctor. twats

I believe there is no excuse for use of excess force by the police.

Have no sympathy though with the protesters who complain about being detained. That wouldnt have happened if some of the protesters had started smashing things up. The other demonstraters knew that would happen.

lets face it the police in the UK are the model of restraint at such events compared to pretty much every other country. I have seen first hand how the police in France and Germany deal with such events and they make British Police look like pussycats!
