Default Lou Reed - Dead at 71

Brilliant musician, still recall a load of his songs with the likes of The Velvet Underground and Nico.

RIP Lou.

Rolling Stone

Dean - I expect your avatar to change.

A truly great talent. For me, Transformer was one of the greatest albums of all time.

Not such a perfect day, then.

And Mentalist, if you like Transformer, then that explains everything about you. Most people with ears regard it as aural torture.

Disagree, I thought Transformer was brilliant. Walk on the Wild Side and Satellite of love? Aural torture? I think not.

A truly great and influential album. Not my avatar choice though...........

[edit] Rolling Stone has Transformer at 194 in their all-time Top 500, with a few Velvet Underground albums higher up. Fair enough, but RS include Greatest Hits albums, live albums, etc, in their list, which is cheating a bit surely? NME had Transformer in their Top 10 a few years back, I seem to recall.

Your avatar choice is one of my all time favourite albums, so I'm not anti-Lou Reed. I just don't like Transformer. It's a matter of opinion and choice, that's all.

Don't think you'd enjoy Metal Machine Music then.

Mind you I'm not sure that was actually meant to be enjoyed....

What was that spoken song about the boy who posted himself to a girl in the mail and she stabbed him with a knife trying to cut open the package.

Or have I imagined that one?

You're not imagining it at all.
