Long weekend - Muscat
 

Thinking about taking the wife away next weekend to Muscat. Cars on finance with hsbc, do I need their permission? Insurance covers me so no worries there.

Passport expires feb 11, is that a problem for Oman, I know it's fine for UAE as I read 3months validity if you have residency.

Are they so restrictive in Oman during ramadanadingdong as here regarding closed doors restaurants and drinks?

If it's too much hassle, I'll just take her to Al Ain as haven't ventured anywhere other than ad, dubai and the road to baracudas.

Far more restrictive during Ramadan. Had mail from a friend the other day saying they're looking forward to Eid as no alcohol available at all in bars or restaurants during Ramadan.

Would suggest you go to Al Ain instead and save Muscat until later in the year when the weather is nicer (less hot/humid).

As far as I am aware you need six months validity in your passport to enter Oman, no matter if you have UAE residency.

Went to Fujairah 2 weks ago you wouldn't have thought it was ramadan, pool bar was open and food obtainable all day

My weather ticker suggests it's currently 10 degrees cooler in Muscat vs Abu Dhabi (34 degrees vs 44 degrees). Is it wrong? Or is the humidity much higher over there? I'm curious as we're off to Muscat for Eid and I'd hoped that it would feel a little less oppressively hot.
