Default Lonely Planets Wanted

We (the missus and I) are soon to embark on a round the world trip.
We are wondering if anyone out there in cyberland has any old lonely planets (or any guide books) that we could borrow or have, to aid us in our research and planning.
Up to date ones not necessarily required - just want to get a feel for certain places.

We are going to spend most of our time in Asia and South America, with some time in the US and Europe.
Anyone got any lying around?

Would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately no spare guide books, but there is a wealth online too I guess, however just wanted to say very jealous of your trip and wanted to wish you the very best of times... send us all "bored" postcards.

Awesome man, around the world is a major thing to do. Can't help with Asia unless is Singapore or Malaysia but have a number of books and booklets on Europe (less mainstream like Calabria, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Czech etc) and a couple on specific areas of US. Have to say best resource for us is Wikipedia, told us more than all the guide books put together. Have a great time!

Still an idiot though...

Hope you are taking your time and either driving, motor biking, cycling or hitch-hiking. Anything else would be yukky.

top stuff fella, am very jealous.
cant help with the books though but can suggest either of the second hand bookshops 1 in ibn batutta and 1 in that centre on beach road i dont know the name of, the one along from the magrudy centre which has a driving licence place in it as well (sure one of the jumeira crowd will know its name)
check out kinokuniya as well, a bit of lengthy browsing might provide some free ideas.

either that or if you have an iphone the lonely planets are availabe as ebooks

these two sites are handy as well

I imagine we will utilise every mode of transport in existence at least once.

We will be getting a round the world ticket to get to the main centers though.

Intent is to land in one city.....and fly out of another using this ticket.....and spend the time travelling in between. These things are remarkably great value.

even the non-jumeriah crowd knows about this one, its a shame they moved to dxb and are not in ab dabs anymore. if you are in abu dhabi at any time, come and look at the thrift shop attached to St Andrews Church you may come across something.

we did a rtw a few years ago with the kids, 18 planes in total in 3 weeks, couldnt afford the time but it was brill. my advice take lots of little bags, and a lightweight big bag that you can fit them all in, when you go on the big planes, we had a smallish rucksac on wheels, then you can attach the non wheeled bags to it, and so you have an instant trolley, well needed sometimes, some of the cars we had to try and squeeze into were the size of smart cars...... 4 people and their luggage!!
