You could but it's very, very deep for a diver and no visible light would penetrate. Only a few people could do it as for SCUBA divers on heliox the limit is usually considered to be 700 feet IRRC.

However you could drag a sonar behind a boat around the lake and scout every inch, which has been done. Nothing unexpected was found in the way of monsters or lost civilisations
