Pampered rock stars flying round the place in planes and helicopters and using limos who then tell us all to live our lives in a green way are becoming somewhat tiresome.

Hmm. But given that the US is one of the two major nations of the world (Australia being the other notable culprit) that did not sign up to Kyoto, and given that the Chinese gave the go-ahead for a Live Earth concert in Shanghai, was some political capital not gained as a result?

10 years for what?

There's a big asteroid heading our way in 2027 anyway. So we have 20 years to party and then none of this shit matters any more.

Well I changed our a/c settings from 25ºC to 26ºC throughout the house.

Bono, eat your heart out.

To be fair, it's one thing he hasn't been very vocal on. Sting, on the other hand...

Yet another pop concert for the sake of it.

Nothing will be gained and no one will remember it in two-weeks time.

sanc·ti·mo·ni·ous (săngk'tə-mō'nē-əs)
adj.
Feigning piety or righteousness: “a solemn, unsmiling, sanctimonious old iceberg that looked like he was waiting for a vacancy in the Trinity” (Mark Twain).
