Am I allowed to claim I got the Romain Poite comment spot on? Anyway I have waited all my life for a Lions performance like that - that ranks ahead of anything (and I am old enough to remember) from 1971 or 1974, both widely regarded as the pinnacle of Lions history. Brian Moore has tweeted about how good Corbisiero was in the tight - correct, and the Aussie yellow card was a direct result of front row dominance that Aus could not match. |
Re: The Lions
I will check to make sure that points total of 41 is a Lions Test record, but I'm damn sure it is.

Re: The Lions
It was totally worth the hangover.
I watched the 1997 tour in SA with my Dad and that got me hooked. I tried to justify what a Lions tour is to so many friends but unless you've been on a rugby tour overseas you have no idea what those chaps go through and what it means. This tour has gone beyond all I hoped for and the final test yesterday was utterly enthralling and dominant from every position. The Lions battered the Aussies everywhere, the scrum was reminiscent of the SA's in the last Lions tour, just bigger, stronger and more powerful. We looked good everywhere....yes, even Toby Falehelmet (who will remain the worst No8 in world rugby). I stand by my statement yesterday. I'd rather watch a whole lions tour than a whole RWC. |
Re: The Lions
Great performance all round! The scrum was just immense and it good to finally get a ref who lets the front row do what the front row does best.
