For a mere $8900, you can enjoy the entry level ELP player. http://www.elpj.com/purchase/index.html Myself, I have been half seriously wating for an affordable EMT 950(Elektro Mess Technik) .These were made in the 70s as pro broadcast record players and according to online vinyl afficianados are the zenith of pro vinyl players. http://www.stefanopasini.it/EMT950_B...escription.htm Theres a lot of high end record players like $150,000 one below but I don 't buy their spiel . http://www.frank151.com/blog/2011/10...0000_turntable No matter how finely made , precise aand isolating a contemporary record player is, it still has to play sound that was recorded on decades old technology. The best it can do is come closer to the original recording than any other turntable. This is assuming that the record you have is an early production run and in mint condition, because the master will deterioate as hundreds/thousands of records are stamped out. These frightfully expensive record players remind me of much ballyhooed HiFi power cables that cost several thousands; all amounts to nought as you are limited by basic cables that utilities and your builder used. |

I have read that while the TechnicsSL1210 are good for DJing due to being direct drive, they aren't meant for high quality sound like the Audiophile turntables that are belt drives. And conversely the latter aren't good for scratching owing to being belt drive.
