Later starting brunch Dubai???

Anyone know of a brunch which starts a bit later than normal, for example 2pm instead of 12 or 12.30?

My family are going to Disney on Ice this Friday and I wanted to take them somewhere after. Family friendly would be good. Good food. Drinks. Preferably not full of tossers.

Just in case you were interested I found a few (and according to a local newspaper the later starting brunches is a trend....)

Ocacti (in Pier7) - Mexican food
Asia Asia (in Pier7) - You guess..
Tribeca (in Ocean View Hotel) - New York style food

don't know about family friendly although my wife went to Asia Asia ladies night recently and said the food was awesome so maybe it is a good choice..

still looking...

Asia Asia - want to go but for dinner they give you a table for 2 hours, then presumably, tell you to get off it.

Never heard of Tribeca - going to have a look. Love the idea of not losing the entire day to brunch.

There are evening brunches. The various Rotonas have them. Usually some sort of theme night.

Food was fine, nothing amazing. Booze was worth the cost.

I'd much rather have an evening brunch. Start at 7, stuff yourself silly for three hours, meaning you have a full stomach for a night of boozing afterwards.

The daytime brunches always leaves you knackered by late afternoon and feeling a bit off balance timewise, sort of like jet lag.

Totally agree, but I will be bringing my kids (4 and 8) so in the interest of everyone who would be at the evening brunch this is not a good idea. Cranky kids and pissed up people not a good combo.

Anyway I have totally struck out on the brunches. All are fully booked. Well, Asia Asia have tables outside (are you ****ing kidding me??). Last brunch before Ramadan I suppose...bad timing!

It's not a brunch it's a buffet. Dubai is misusing language again. :sneaky:

what gets me is where are people going for entertainment, to get answers to silly questions and generally to make fun of people who don't know better (ie newbies)...

have we ridiculed so many people that the victims have started a new super-exclusive club which none of us are invited to?

or is it just that most people who arrive in the middle east these days are too young to see the benefit of researching up front and/or having a bit of banter with other similar people?

I think that too many sarcastic and downright unpleasant posts have sent people to other forums. I wouldn't say they were in any way exclusive, quite the opposite, but they aren't so snotty. I believe that's also the reason many regular posters have left as I speak to a few from time to time.

Wit and sarcasm has its place but perhaps being a tiny bit nicer might be helpful. I am not advocating fluffy, heaven forfend, but the outright spite is unnecessary. That's the reason I didn't post for a few months as I just couldn't be bothered with it.
