A brunch isn't a bad idea - they are only 3 hours long and we all have a natural exit route if it turns out that we are all internet weirdos. If, heaven forbid, we are actually normal then we can carry on getting pissed or move on to an orgy at Villa de la Millhouse.

Being a brunch virgin myself, I'm not going to suggest a place. Although I am tempted by the down beat Waxy's (LH may show up or just be in there) or the beertastic Belgium Bar as suggested by Spugsy on the other thread.

Let's have a show of strength to celebrate the start of the holy month, crazy driving, bad breath and the ridiculously short working day that Ramadan entails (for me at least) ...
I'm up for brunch on the 29th, but not if it will be somewhere like Waxy's! Yalumba is always good and ofcourse Al qasr or lets see what Commander says about the Observatory.
If you fancy Al Qasr let me know..I can get 10% discount for everybody.

Right.

I want to say yes, but, I'm certain that I have already agreed to something on that day. I just don't know what.

Let me come back on this one.

Realistically - this is going to have to be an Al Qasr type brunch to appease everyone's inner snob. That being said I did Double Deckers and Waxy's on Friday and it was blinding.

So Scamp is busy on the 29th so if anybody wants to do a brunch I can book Al Qasr.
They are doing a 2 for 1 deal so it works out at 250dhs a head. They will book up very quickly so if anybody wants to do it let me know by Weds.
I am going anyway so can just add numbers to the table

I'm a Dubai virgin--so I guess Al Qasr must be pretty plush if its normally 500 a head. I'll come, but do they let my sort in? Millhouse, can you advise?

No idea. They wouldn't let me in last time.

Actually, I've never been to a Dubai brunch either - but Pasty will look after us I'm sure.

I'm out with the lads already, beers then onto an Indie night at some place in Al Barhsa, looks pretty great to be honest, AED 100 for 5 beers and AED 20 mojitos.
