Hmm. Interesting. I have recently installed a red button under the top of the gear stick to send it into mega-mode*.

*Mega Mode: Fog lights on, no normal lights. Tyres get pumped to look like off-road, old school Patrol type sand tyres. Tyre and cover come out the boot and pin onto boot door with awful Falcon / Gun cover spray painted on. Carpet slides up onto dash.

Interesting comments.

Since I'm looking to upgrade to a proper house in the next few years I should minimise unpredictable outgoing expenses.

Oh well. Someday.

Mercedes G Wagen ? Potentially a lot more reliable and still gives off the pretentious air you are looking for.

Or buy a Twisted Defender 110 and always get let out at traffic lights.

BBC Test

Depending on your budget there are some decent ones to be had.

For Sale

I'd love the V8 520HP one, how great would that be?

You're barking up the wrong tree of pretentiousness.

I wouldn't touch a Merc with a ten-foot pole.

What is this carb you speak of? I haven't seen one of them on a car in a long time.

Some kind of primative fuel device I believe....

I'm old enough to remember when 'twin carbs' was considered incredibly sporty. And the fun and games feeding the carb dashpots with 3-in-1 oil.

I'll get my Zimmer frame....
