Yes, I'm just waiting for the day my husband discovers we're related. We were born in different countries (my british side has been in aus since convict days) but he's still found common relatives of ours that have married hundreds of years back.

I have to admit I've always had a crush on one of my cousins (he's so gorgeous). Problem is his mother is my mothers sister and his father is my fathers brother, so if we were to marry and procreate, I'm almost certain we'd have some kind of two headed monster for sure.

No need to gulp - two sisters marrying two brothers from another family is completely healthy and legal (small country town, my mother came from a family of 5 girls and dad's family had 4 boys). It's great if ever in need of a bone marrow donor - it means we have the choice of ten kids that are genetically similar.

Must be a cultural difference. Could be my cousins are down right ugly, but wait a minute... no; I think it's cultural.

You can't say that "their kids are born normal" cousins share a gene pool and if there is a strong possibility both of them are "carriers" of a particular gene. If for instance that they were both carriers of something like cystic fibrosis, then there would be a chance of them having a child with the disease. If you marry someone who doesn't come from the same gene pool, chances of carrying the same genetic defects are less.

I'm from the Levi 501 pool!
Must be in-breeding in my genetic make up, that was lame even to me!
