I agree with Norm.
The genuine article will be for the rich, the genetically modified for the rest of us.
As we have no idea what really goes into the likes of (Ikea) meatballs and faggots etc. I don't know why we're particularly bothered.
I'd rather get meat from a local butchers where I know the food chain involved - that's a bit tricky here though.

The potential to save on land is amazing, we'd be able to reverse a lot of environmental damage and let more areas grow wild.

If we could somehow grab most of the methane expelled by cows...

I undersstand the arguments for and the potential benefits, but I'm not a massive meat eater anyway and the thought of it being grown just makes me go 'ewwww".

You're just swapping a battery hen for a pipette and a petri dish.
A bit like artificial insemination I guess.

It's a bit too 'Brave New World' and not natural. I'm generally fussy about meat and prefer to eat less of it, but of higher quality, i.e. organic and not intensively farmed where possible.
The artificiality of it is not appestising to me. I ought to be vegetarian (again) as I couldn't kill something and eat it.

I dont think there is a need to create more frankenfoods than we already have.
Can we realistically (and nutritiously) feed 7+ billion people ?
I think so - especially with the amount of food and the quantities that is wasted annually by a household is too high. I used to throw away a lot of food as i ate out or it had been in the fridge for 3 days (now i shop on the day that i know i am going to eat on the day).
I think with the recent recession a lot of families have made cut backs in terms of type/quality of foods.
Personally im still putting my money on how do the 7+ billion move around locally and internationally !
