KHalifa City lifestyle

How do you go out and get pissed on weekends in town if you live in Khalifa city?

how do you get transport from Khalifa to the city during the day if you dont drive?

are these 2 things overly difficult?

We normally drive into town then leave our car there for the night and catch a taxi back. If you don't drive there are plenty of taxi's roaming around, just means standing at the roadside ready and waiting to flag one down.

I see. Im going to take a look at a villa today. If its acceptable the company will lease it for me. Im hesitant to live so far out and my girlfriend doesnt drive but works in town... I go into town regularly to socialise. Those are my 2 concerns.

It's best to get the numbers of a few taxi drivers that you can call and get to pick you up. Some drivers refuse to put their meters on when going off island and try to charge extortionate rates, and some just flat out refuse to take you!! You'll always find someone though, it can just be a bit more hassle - hence the value in collecting taxi drivers' mobile numbers to call half an hour to an hour before you want to go home. Depends what time you're going home - if it's early-ish it's not a problem at all, after 11pm starts getting harder, and after midnight/1am they start trying to take the p***.

You just mean the old white taxis? Cos now I live around 19th street and dont even bother with the old taxi's when departing from any hotel. Min price is 20 dirhams.

Are the old taxis still trying to flat charge on weekend evenings??? Remember one night being told it was a flat charge of 10dhm when, by day, it cost 3.
