Default Keyhole surgery

Anyone had it?

I'm getting it on Thursday, had a bad knee for about a year and a half, me and my personal trainer worked on it for ages and it got better but not 100% so had an MRI and I've got two tears in the cartilege of my knee.

Notkeen on surgery but if it fixes it then fine - anyone know how long I'll be out of action footy wise for?

(and yeah seeing Doc on Tuesday for a chat but you know me, always prefer first hand advice)

Ive not had it but one of my mates had both knees done last year, he was into basketball rather than football and reckon he was out of action about 12 weeks, he was on sticks for about 4, he was great afterwards though and had it done in American Hospital, quite a lot of physio as i recall

Well funny you mention it, you could try sending my wife home before 2am and in a state that she can walk next time you take her out

Got a call at 2am 'Can you come and meet me outside and carry me in?'

Guess the show was on the other foot but oh lord what a state she was in.

Yeah thats both knees though, mines to take out some dodgy cartilege tears, I'm guessing physio - it'll be at welcare hospital at garhoud, not heard much about them but to be fair they've been great for x-ray, MRI, doctors etc

Yeah that's the good thing, I can't keep playing (even though I am) as it's just hard work. I also have a heel spur in my right heel, where the bone sort of grows and the heel has a hook made of bone which is pushing into the flesh and gives me constant pain - so I'll get a cortisone injection to sort the pain and I have exercises as well.

My nephew plays a lot (seven days a week training and games) and has his cruciate on one knee done keyhole, after six weeks he was back to light training and 12 weeks was back in action fully from memory.

You say that as If I am the sensible one Spugsy, I thought she seemed ok- which suggests that I was ina similar state! I must admit I still feel rough 3 days later! it was a very funny night though I appeared to think I was the worlds greatest dancer so was busting some moves on the dancefloor- you would have thought that would of sobered me up a bit- apparently not!

It all started as a quiet catch up after work....

Anyway back on the strict diet today- no drink til my mates wedding at the end of July!

Had it done 14 years ago. Convalescence wasn't too bad. The leg hair grows back eventually.

Now my good knee is playing up so may have to look at similar just to have a clear out of all the crap floating around in there.

How much does it all cost in UAE Spugsy if you don't mind me asking?

I had a knee arthroscopy in 1996 after tearing all the cartilage playing badminton. Recovery was pretty quick and it's largely fine, but never been 100% since. I stopped the badminton some years ago due to problems with my shoulder, but could play with it strapped to extra support.

I imagine techniques have improved over the last 15 years too.

Both at the same time? Sounds rough.

Good luck.
