Default Jebel Ali Golf Resort Beach Club

I have been thinking of joining with the family for something to do at the weekends, hang out, have a few drinks, maybe make some new friends... is anybody here a member? Would you recommend it? Thanks.

I'd recommend, the F n B manager is a friend of mine. If you look confident and brazen your way through no one will question you.

No, actually 16k for 2 adults and 2 kids. Which is like Dh 1,500 per month. Just over 50 quid a week. I think

I've been many times, especially there is an event on. I don't do golf and I wouldn't indulge anyone wearing weird trousers It's much more a hotel than a golf bore hangout. 1000 covers for lunch on a weekend, 1400 if the hotel is full and they generally are but during the week 80% occupancy which is high for Dubay.

50 quid a week, in fact only 7 quid per day, or 30p per hour.

At 30p per hour it's basically free.

Yeah, I am trying to justify it

I am not your usual flashy shop-til-you-drop kind of girl (except when it comes to cars), and it is a lot of money, but I think these places can be good for families. Beats wandering around soulless shopping malls, anyways.

What's wrong with the free beach, or Al Mamzar?

20% off the drinks - drink enough and the membership will pay for itself.

Can't really take the baby to the beach, there is not enough shade. Don't know what Al Mamzar is, am off to find out...

I would assume if you are looking at JA golf club, mamzar would be no use, it's nearly in Sharjah and shit.

Go for it, I quite like JA hotel

Full of crappy dressed Russians though,

It is in Sharjah. I wouldn't say it is shit - but it does lack the kudos necessary to boast in the Springs.

I do like JA - but I wouldn't pay for membership when you can just walk in...

It's cool, not sure I'd want to be a member, but to be honest I don't want to be a member anywhere because it's so expensive and limits you to that one place.

As for it generally, we'll be going in the next few weeks for the day. It's 300 and something, with a food brunch and all the facilities included. Beach is nice, pools are great and you can smoke at the swim up bar. More importantly they know how to make a proper Long Island Iced Tea. It's cool, it's just ****ing miles away from me.

Oh, the Golf Course is one of my favourites because it is comfortably the least pretentious.

Mamzar is good. Drive in for 30dhs, drive all the way to the back (beach 5 or 6) and it's never too busy.
