It is You could just see her pain in one of her photos - was too heart breaking. I just hope she has strong family support especially the little children.

My friend died of cancer last year, and hers started off as liver then spread.
She was given 3 months and ended up holding on for nearly 2 years. It was awful.I hope for her that it is quick. It is heartbreaking for the patient and the family to have to go through it.

one of my old mates died of stomach cancer about a year ago, I hadn't seen him in years, he was 30 with a 6 month year old baby, apparently he was in extreme pain for a whole before he passed away,

it was awful at the funeral, and his girlfriend was japanese so she was going to go back home with the baby, which meant his mother will hardly ever see her now.

Life can be a real bitch sometimes.

It is reported today that it is in her brain and bones, she hasnt got long now.

Maybe the doctors wanted to try anything to keep her hopes up. Such a shame.

it really is a shit disease

http://www.readytogo.net/blogs/hazey/archive/

this lad was only 30 and wrote a blog about his "dark friend" and it really was compelling stuff reading it each day. It was published after his death.

*some of the language is a bit rich as you'll see in one of his last posts but it was always in context !

He's diagnosed in Apil 07

I feel so sorry for her.

And I'm really sorry for all your losses.

My dh's friend died two months ago of bowel cancer. He was the same age as me (31).

I just wish we could speed up science to find an early diagnosing system and cure. I hope one day we can talk about this disease as a thing of the past.

I really cannot believe all the money that is paid into cancer through one means and another that a cure has not been found, I would guess the cancer subject is that vast. They say we all have cancer within us its just a case of something triggering the cells, we have all heard of people who have got cancer after a knock in sport or something of that nature.
Both my parents died of cancer within 6 months of each other, I have lost 2 friends through throat cancer and another through liver cancer, to add to this a very good friend of mine has been having keemo for something like 8 months, had the last session 6 weeks ago and now waiting for a visit to the specialist, he looks well and I have big hopes for him, I cannot believe his braveness in this illness, he will certainly not be lying down and giving in, but I do feel for what he and his family are going through, it puts things into persepective when my biggest worry at the moment is my job here, we all need to be thankful for small mercies at times.

It's because cancer is actually a description for symptoms caused by a wide range of diseases.

Some of those can be prevented (for instance at the moment almost every developed countries are doing free VHP vaccines for girls that helps prevent cervical cancer) and sometimes the cancer can be treated but not always. In the end most new treatments are only educated guesses and blind luck, the possibilities are almost infinite but molecular biologists and funding isn't.

and I reckon as sad as it will be, Bobby Robson won't be too long to go, he's had cancer 5 times now and isn't getting any younger,

the local hospital asked him to help them raise £500k for a new cancer wing and with his charity and contacts and presence he did it in 7 weeks,

the man is a legend.

Spot on - a true gentleman in football, something of which is almost unheard of now.

If only some of the overpaid shites in todays game took a leaf from his book.

I saw him on TV not so long ago and he didn't look too good.

he has a plate in his head that basically holds his nose onto his face as the cancer rotted part of his face, that sounds horrific doesn't it? Yet he's always there smiling and chatting to people.

I agree a total example to others to look upto, also great to see that 20% more women are seeking cervical smears since Jade was diagnosed

according to this piece she had had the cancerous cells removed 3 times and just ignored the 4th one and 'hoped it would go away'.
