On the topic of accents, even The Queen doesn't sound the same as she did 50 years ago. Her accent is not as crisp and she doesn't even say 'hice' in the same way now. Evolution of accents right there.

I think the 'poshest' sounding person I have ever come across is the art crritic Brian Sewell. No one else sounds quite like that these day!

As I have never heard of Jack Whitehall (not really pre-2000 you see), I will restrict my comment to the on-going debate on accents. To this end, I once worked with a Bahraini national who spoke English with a strong Welsh accent. Also, one of my umpteen nieces returned from two years schooling in San Diego with a heavy Californian accent but five years later has restored her Zummerzet dialect...thank goodness.
