It's US Presidential Election Day.......

This one strictly for obsessives but it's not quite over yet. They are still counting votes in the Presidential election. The urgency relents once the overall result is clear and there are an awful lot of votes to count. Many of these are provisional ballots (where the vote is only counted after the ID of the voter has been verified - tend to be heavily Democrat).

Anyway, Obama's overall popular vote margin has been steadily growing. It's now 51.8% to 47.6%, so more than 3% and projected to end up around 3.6 or 3.7%. Historically that's a decent margin - well above Bush '04 (2.4% - and if only Ohio had flipped we would have had President Kerrey).

More deliciously, it means that Rmoney's share will almost certainly dip below 47.5% so his rounded number will be 47% - exactly the share of the US poulation that he dismissed as "takers" in his infamous supposedly secret address to donors....

And Bush's 04 vote was of course a big increase on his 2000 negative vote lead over Gore.
