It's not all fireworks and Kylie.........

......... says the Daily Telegraph.......

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/global/ma...1/21/dubai.xml

Example:

Christians can build their own churches and worship freely, alcohol is available, women can dress how they wish and do any job, foreigners can own freehold property, prostitution is tolerated and, while homosexuality is not, ‘Brokeback Mountain' is available to rent in Blockbuster.

I thought it was a fairly fair assessment really apart from checking under your car - that's what WE do!!

It seems a perfectly accurate summary to me without raising the spectres of construction and traffic chaos.

I wish they would use a dictionary and a thesaurus..

Daily Telegraph? I've seen better in the Sunday Sport

Not that I've ever read the Sunday Sport mind you (there is nothing to read, its just 'pictures')

The Telegraph has become very tabloid in recent years - that last comment about renting it from Blockbuster............ well, really............

A respected journo approached me recently about contributing a 'what's Dubai really like?' piece......... I reckon I could do a lot better than this puerile crap.

There are no established rental chains here, certainly not Blockbuster. And Brokeback Mountain is certainly still banned. I'm not convinced Mr John Arlidge has ever been to Dubai...

There is a lot of truth in the article, not 100% accurate but a lot of truth there
