WTF? For a 13 year old? Is this what all the Yewtree men were sending out?

It's vile.

Totally inappropriate. Would send it to the mother of the kid. With a few choice words added.

I get the upset at it, but it's only a card.

If someone is ballsy enough to send it then fair play to them.

Sorry, but I don't get this 'bin it' response - by then, your little angel will already have read it, surely?

If Arnold Barton is a card manufacturer, I think a boycott is called for........

Not for those easily offended (well, actually not even for those who are difficult to offend):

Spoiler:
I don't get the diamonds and rubies bit. Surely a pearl necklace would be more appropriate.

"In a statement on its website, Hallmark said: “We know that some people have expressed concerns about a card, branded Arnold Barton, Co., sold recently in the United Kingdom…

"This card was printed over 15 years ago by Arnold Barton before Hallmark UK acquired that brand. This card has not been reproduced since and we are surprised that a copy was still available for purchase in a retail store.

“We agree the card is not appropriate; we apologize on behalf of Arnold Barton and will do our best to track down any copies remaining in circulation."

"apologize [sic] on behalf of Arnold Barton"!? You own the brand, you tossers, and have done so for 15 years--its you who need to apologise!

Isn't that like saying that VW should apologise for the Bentley Brooklands?

It was made before they bought the brand (I'm just using an example) and some people might not like it.

No. Its a Hallmark Card, and if they're still making it available for sale, its their problem. (On the other hand, if it was distributed before they bought the company, then its not their problem.) Either way, how can you apologise on behalf of a company that ceased to exist over 15 years ago? Smacks to me on Hallmark not being man enough to apologise...

BTW, what's wrong with the Brooklands? (Genuine question--I don't know anything about them.)
