The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most congested international waterways. It is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point and is bordered by the Iranian coast to the north and the United Arab Emirates to the south.

So long as the Israelis don't start chucking sunshine around will this really cause us any issues here?

Re: Israel/ Iran?
thats the great question isnt it. iran is huge so if they are chucking conventional weapons around up north near the reactor sites we have little to worry about. they start turning the place into an ashtray and we are ****ed in a hurry

Anyway, I'm guessing now's not a good time to consider coming back to the big sand pit... strangely enough the recruiters in that region have been very active in the last week or two. Are there more vacancies because everyone's leaving?

The impact is more like a Dirty bomb, so fissionable material would be spread around the immediate vicinity and further depending on weather patterns etc. Nuclear reactors can't go off like bombs, they're made of not enough of the wrong sort of radioactive materials and you can't get them to critical mass. You'd be looking at something like Chernobyl minus the meltdown.
