Omid Djalili isn't a Muslim.
He's a follower of the Baha'i faith. Info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bah%C3%A1%27%C3%AD_Faith

Has anyone seen the Dictator, Sascha Baron Cohen's latest offering?? How he gets away with it also defies belief.

Not sure if they were Muslim or not - but the Axis Of Evil Tour was really pretty good.

ah, Yahanni Mashi! In Al Khobar it was nearly always Ballantine's. Something to do with the square bottles being easier to transport, apparently.

Re: Islam & comedy
There is (was?) a guy in Bahrain called Nader Shaheen (he worked for one of the banks) who did stand-up, after-dinner speaking, etc. He performed at the Edinburgh Fringe a couple of times - his routine was basically an appeal for religious tolerance etc, but spoken in a comedy context. He wore a thobe on stage etc etc.
And what about that Omid Djalili (sp?) - he's quite funny when the mood takes him.
