Well as you may or may not have read, Im unemployed so I dont want a contract.

Im also looking at the HTC Touch HD. Any ideas on that price outright?

loads, you can get them in dubai mall, but they don't have guarantees and they are about AED 3,000

My husband got his in Aus - paid 12 months contract with Optus - put my Optus sim card in it for 10 days, then it was unlocked. He uses it freely with his Etisalat sim card now. I think it worked out to be less than half the price he would have paid for it here (even with 12 month optus contract). May be worth getting one when you're home. He likes it because we use macs and it's calendars and everything sync, photos, itunes, all that mac stuff.

Yea sounds a little exp over here from what ive heard it costs in the US also
