besides, you'd be a bit dim to open an attachment from somewhere you didn't recognise. Just like links from dodgy spam emails just scream KEYLOGGER!

I don't feel that I'm IT savvy by any means, but general rules are that if you don't recongnise a sender, or if the title seems irrelevant to you AND the email has attachments or links, just delete it straight away. It's worth being paranoid about such things. One of my email accounts was hacked a couple of weeks ago (hotel unsecured networks ftl) and used to spam all my contacts with a badly spelled "Hi there! I saw this [link] and it seems great! Click it now!!!" type email. Most people knew it was as dodgy as hell and couldn't possibly be from me, but I had to phone my mum to make sure. Sorry again for the "dim"... it was out of order. |

...Macs just seem to work and are easy to use... ...especially with internet banking...I wouldn't trust a pc ...too many viruses (105,000 at last count that I read compared to only 2 innocuous viruses for the mac) and spyware for the pc as well as many keyloggers. Why yellow sunglasses ? |

The problem is, when you carry out business and the messages could be related to transactions, etc sometimes it's quite difficult to tell what is dodgy and what isn't. The other issue is that we probably all hand out our business cards to people and so the risk increases because we don't always know who is writing to us and we risk snubbing potential business contacts if we don't open mails.
Bit of a minefield really. Thanks for the heads up! and of course if you give out business cards often, you would have to keep a log of every card u gave out! |
