... on BBC2 this evening: Dispatches: Britain's Islamic Republic
"An investigation into a fundamentalist Islamic group headquartered in Britain, and its claims to have placed its `brothers' in positions of political power here. Using undercover recordings, investigative journalist Andrew Gilligan reveals the group's ambitions to create a worldwide `Islamic social and political order,' and the concerns of a mainstream party that it is being infiltrated, and talks to the Muslims who want to stop it"
Bit of same old, same old, but it's rather interesting nonetheless.

Sorry about that!
It's on BBC2 (UK), 20h start, today 1st March (I'm in the UK at the moment)
Basically a report looking into the political goings on in the Borough of Tower Hamlets in London, but has uncovered how an organisation - The Islamic Forum of Europe - is actually hosting and preaching fundamentalist Islam from the East London Mosque and infiltrating and subsequently rigging local elections. They have so far managed to get one of their members in the Council Community Funding office and diverted funds from secular organisations to IFE-related ones. They have also (legally) wrangled a referendum for an elected mayor (with one of their candidates in prime position) and the local Labour Party was so worried, they've locked down the local branch and put them under surveillance.
Interesting, but with no real conclusion.

no, got it downloaded tho'
The Dispatches prog was interesting in that it made the point that this organisation would attach itself to a cause/entity that they wouldn't necessarily agree with, just in order to manoeuvre their people into positions of influence.
