Sounds like a good place to be stopping, looking forward to it now!!
We arrive just after midnight so presumably should get to the hotel at about 1ish lets hope. Not sure if I would be up for partying too hard but might have to pop in to sample one or two small beverages

my Dad flew in from Amsterdam last week, took him nearly three hours to get back to Satwa from landing, nightmare, worst time of day at that airport!

neither E-gate or First class make much difference when arriving in Dubai as you still have to wait ages for your bags. Only really helps if you are returning from a business trip with hand bags only.

all depends when you arrive.
When I've flown in with Virgin its been the flight that arrives at 6-7am and its never been a problem. Think its when you arrive at around midnight that you are screwed.

It's always bad late at night. I usually land at about 8pm & bags are quick then. With bags available quickly, an e-gate card, even including a quick detour to Duty Free, I am usually home within an hour of landing.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when the new terminal opens. When is that due by the way?
